Hi there! I’m Kevin Soviero, a DevOps engineer passionate about building robust, scalable infrastructure and empowering development teams with efficient automation. Over the past decade, I’ve worked across startups and established tech companies, wearing many hats, from sole DevOps owner to senior engineer on larger teams.

Career Highlights⌗

My work has always centered on making infrastructure something a team can trust and stop thinking about. That’s meant taking deployments from hand-rolled EC2 instances through Docker Swarm to full Kubernetes, whether that was EKS at Medici and Liscio or GKE at Stoplight, and defining nearly all of it as code: Terraform for the infrastructure itself, Helm for everything from PR environments to production, and pipelines in GitLab CI, CircleCI, and GitHub Actions for deployments that don’t need a human in the loop.

Reliability has been the constant underneath that. I’ve built a self-healing deployment suite on Rundeck at OneLogin, an auto-failover OpenVPN mesh between AWS regions, RabbitMQ-backed loan processing at ReachFi, and carried on-call at nearly every stop along the way. I’ve also helped two different companies through SOC 2 certification, moved monitoring from Nagios to Zabbix and Datadog, and built the self-service tooling, Flask apps, and CLI utilities that keep engineers unblocked and pages quiet.

Some of that work has meant owning the infrastructure alone, like at Liscio, where I ran the AWS environment (EKS, Aurora, ElastiCache, CloudFront, and more) and its CI/CD end to end as the sole DevOps engineer. These days I’m doing similar work as a Senior SRE at ZenGRC.

Philosophy⌗

I believe DevOps is more than a set of tools, it’s a culture of collaboration, automation, and continuous improvement. My goal is to bridge the gap between developers and operations so that teams can ship faster, safer, and with confidence.

Based in Austin, TX⌗

When I’m not managing production clusters, I’m usually experimenting in the kitchen with my loving wife, I love cooking and constantly push myself to master new techniques and cuisines. I’m also deeply into electronics design, whether it’s prototyping with microcontrollers or building custom hardware for personal projects.

At home, I run a fully self-hosted homelab powered by Kubernetes, where I test out new DevOps tools, run internal services, and explore infrastructure ideas in a sandboxed environment. It’s a playground that keeps me sharp and lets me tinker freely.
